Our Services
Quality Service, Impactful Partnership.
When storms roll through Iowa, you need a contractor who shows up ready to help and stays by your side until the job is done right. That’s us. First Fruits Construction is a Des Moines-based roofing and construction company built on craftsmanship, honesty, and a faith-driven mission to serve our neighbors.
Trusted Brands Behind Every Installation
Every roof we install in Ankeny relies on proven, industry-leading brands like Owens Corning, James Hardie, Andersen Windows, and Mule-Hide. We choose these manufacturers for their long-term performance rather than the lowest price on the shelf. Since our in-house team also manages siding, gutters, decking, fencing, and commercial exterior work, the same trusted materials and standards carry across every service we offer. Ankeny homeowners get one dependable source for exterior work instead of coordinating separate contractors for each part of a project.
Every nail driven with purpose
We Believe Work Is Worship
For us, the best way to celebrate the life we’ve been given and the people around us is to show up fully every day. We work hard in service to the people who make up our community, led by the belief that the best way to love our neighbor is through openly sharing our own gifts.

First Fruits put a new roof on our home a week ago and it was a delightful experience. Not only was the sales person Carly friendly and knowledgeable, but the entire team showed respect, interest, and care during the entire process. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Five out of five stars…… if I could give them more, I sure would🤗
On a personal note, I appreciate how respectful of my wife and I Derrick was. I'm sure it took some courage to approach our little queer household as a Christian company, but I am glad that he did. He and his company embody the values of kindness and loving thy neighbor, and that is something we needed to see and be reminded of in these times, so thank you.

We are so grateful for the team at First Fruits Construction! When we needed new siding after a tornado, we checked into a few siding companies. If you’re looking for siding in Des Moines, save yourself some time and call First Fruits Construction first!

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the inspection process look like?
Think of it as a health check for your home. One of our experienced team members comes out, takes a careful look at your exterior, and explains everything we find in simple, straightforward terms. You’ll get honest advice and a simple plan to keep your home strong and looking great. From there, the choice is always yours—we’re here to educate, not pressure.
What roofing services do you offer?
We provide a full range of roofing solutions for homes and businesses across Des Moines and central Iowa. That includes roof repair, full roof replacement, new roof installation, emergency roofing, and ongoing maintenance and inspections. Whatever your roof needs, we’ll assess the situation honestly and recommend the right path forward—no pressure, just clear guidance you can trust.
How often does my roof need maintenance?
For most homes, a professional checkup once or twice a year is ideal, usually in spring and fall. Iowa weather can be hard on a roof, so regular visits help it recover from summer storms and winter freeze-thaw cycles. With a First Fruits Maintenance Plan, we keep track of the timing for you, so it’s one less thing on your mind.
