First Fruits Founding Promise

First Fruits Construction was started with one goal in mind,to trust in the Lord to guide us in building up those around us. Not to be taken as a loose metaphor, but as a promise to our community. Every year, we pledge to give 10% of our net profits back to local charities, including through our Roof Rescue Program, where we provide free roofs to those in need. Through this we give back our “first fruits”.

Love You Des Moines Days

Love You Des Moines Days is an annual 10-day celebration for our community with hundreds of free, fun, and meaningful activities for all ages, hosted by the Valley Community Center. The Valley Community Center is owned and operated by Valley Church as a gift to the community and is a hub for partnerships doing good for the community…with the community. During Love You Des Moines Days, Valley Church attenders, as well as community and partner organizations, provide a wide variety of workshops, activities, clinics, and social gatherings for our neighbors. From pickleball, to family splash bash, to cars & coffee, free bike repair, ice cream making, writing workshops, arts & crafts – there is something for everyone!

1. What is the Roof Rescue Program?

The Roof Rescue Program is a charitable initiative by First Fruits Construction that provides free roof repairs or replacements to individuals or families in need within our community.

2. Who is eligible to apply or be nominated?

Anyone experiencing financial hardship or extenuating circumstances and unable to afford roof repairs may apply or be nominated. This includes homeowners facing job loss, medical issues, or other major life challenges.

3. How do I submit a nomination or application?

You can submit an application by filling out the form at the bottom of the Roof Rescue page on our website. Be sure to provide detailed information about the roofing issue and the applicant’s current situation.

4. When is the application deadline?

All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 22nd, 2026 to be considered for this Summer’s program.

Each year, First Fruits Construction aims to assist individuals in our community through our Roof Rescue Program.

This Summer we have proudly partnered with Love You Des Moines Days hosted by Valley Community Center to give not one but two roofs!

If you know someone in need of roof repair without alternative options, please fill out the application below to nominate them. All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 22nd, 2026 to be considered for this Summer’s program.
